My Very First Blog

The weather this month has been particularly grim so I'm not going to talk about it!  Having said that I thought I would share this picture of the Avon valley (taken on the way to work). The hedge in the middle of the water usually has a green field this side of it.

Anyway enough of the weather...

I've just been going through the photos on the iPad, and I've got an awful lot of "before"shots but very few "after" shots. However, I did find some of a little stool we did.

Before..

Stool Before
Stool After
And after... much smarter don't you think?  Upholstered in a Sanderson fabric and trimmed with a scroll gimp braid from Trimont.

One of the nicest things about my job is the interesting people you meet.  The owner of the stool, an elderly gentleman, had this wonderful wind-up gramophone. The slatted doors on the front are the volume control.

We sat and had tea while listening to a 1929 recording of Purcells "Nymphs and Shepherds" by the Manchester Schools children's choir. It was brillant!  Have a listen.

We are thinking of doing some one day interiors workshops.  A couple of years ago we ran a series of them and they proved very popular, (possibly due to lots of cake and Bridget and Carol's home made soup!) Please let us know if you are interested.

Last Wednesday we had a fundraising coffee morning for our chosen charity Parkinson's UK. A big thank you to our team of helpers who donated wonderful raffle prizes, made masses of delicious cakes and biscuits and put together some really pretty posies. Lots of people popped by and in between all the chatting we managed to raise over £400 in just two hours.A fantastic team effort!
